A Tribute to Thelonius Monk
Jazz musician Thelonius Monk is widely regarded as one of the giants of American music. An architect of bebop with more than 70 classic compositions, his impact as a composer and pianist has had a profound influence on artists from every genre.
Here, legendary entertainer Bill Cosby and co-host T.S. Monk Jr. (Thelonius’ son) present a tribute to this extraordinary musician live from the historic Hammerstein Theatre in New York. This show includes performances from the Ben Riley Monk Legacy Septet, Carolyn Leonhart and Wayne Escoffrey Group, Ambrose Akinmusire, John Caze and Sam Newsome.
